The home for everything AI at Remote Guides: ways for assistants to read our guides, so answers come from dated, sourced pages, and later, agents built on them. None of it is live yet. Here is what is coming.
Personal agents that work with Remote Guides. This page is where they will launch.
01
MCP server
Coming soon
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to outside sources. Our server will let any assistant that supports remote MCP servers, such as Claude, ChatGPT in developer mode or a coding editor, read Remote Guides while it answers you, the way you would open a reference book.
It is free and read-only and needs no account. It reads only published guides, and every result links back to the guide on this site.
You will not call these yourself. Your assistant picks the right one from your question.
search_guides
Finds guides by place or topic across countries, locations and articles.
list_regions
Shows the seven regions and how many country guides each has.
list_countries
Lists the country guides in a region, with a one-sentence summary each.
get_country_guide
Returns a full country guide: best time, budget, visa summary, safety, plugs, currency, FAQ.
compare_countries
Puts the key facts of two to five countries side by side.
get_location_guide
Returns the guide to a city, town, island or park.
get_article
Returns a practical article or travel tip as text.
02
ChatGPT plugin
Coming soon
The plugin packages the MCP server for OpenAI’s Plugin Directory, so you could add Remote Guides to ChatGPT without any setup. We will submit it once the server is live. OpenAI reviews every listing, so we cannot promise a date.
Turns a travel question into a short, sourced plan: where to go, when, how long to stay and what it costs.
Country briefing
The essentials for one country from its guide: entry, money, safety, plugs, tipping, getting around and the best time to visit.
Questions it is built for
Compare Portugal and Spain for ten days in October on a mid-range budget.
When is the best time to visit Georgia, and do I need a visa?
Which plug type and currency should I plan for in Vietnam?
Suggest quiet towns in Albania worth a night, using Remote Guides.
Summarise the safety notes for Colombia and link the official advice.
Build a three-country route through the Balkans and cite the guides you used.
03
Travel agents
In planning
We plan to build AI travel agents and personal agents that work with Remote Guides, and this page is where they will launch. Nothing is available yet, and we have not set a date.

Available today
Any assistant that can browse can already read the guides on this site. To help it find them, point it at our llms.txt, a short index written for AI tools.
Whichever way an assistant reaches us, it will not book anything or show live prices, flights or availability. It may also add its own knowledge, so check which statements come from our guides. Visa rules, prices and safety advice change: confirm them with official sources before you travel.
