Terms of use

Last updated: 5 November 2026. Operator: Łukasz Dulniak, address to be updated, hello@remoteguides.net.

These terms apply to the Remote Guides website (remoteguides.net) and the Remote Guides connector for AI assistants (the ChatGPT plugin, the MCP server and the public REST API). By using any of them you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site or the connector.

What we provide

Remote Guides provides the following services free of charge and without an account:

  • The website: editorial travel guides to 197 countries and about 2,000 places, plus practical articles and travel tips, with a search function.
  • The connector for AI assistants: a read-only interface that lets ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants search and read our published guides. It is not available yet.

We may change, pause or withdraw any of these services at any time. We will keep the public URLs of guides stable where we can.

Technical requirements

To use the website you need a device with an up-to-date web browser and an internet connection. To use the connector you need an AI assistant that supports plugins or MCP servers, under that assistant’s own terms.

Information, not advice

Remote Guides publishes general travel information. Visa rules, prices, opening times, safety conditions and transport change, sometimes quickly. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed. Always confirm entry requirements with the official immigration authority and check your government’s current travel advice before you book or travel. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on our content.

How our content is made

Guides are drafted with AI tools under fictional writer personas, checked and reviewed by a human editor who takes responsibility for them. Photographs are credited under each image with their author and licence. AI-generated illustrations are labelled as such. The full description, including the AI disclosure and the takedown route for photographers, is on our editorial, AI and copyright page.

Using our content

You may read our guides, share links to them and quote short extracts with attribution and a link, within the limits of the quotation right (§ 51 of the German Copyright Act, UrhG). Republishing whole guides, or building a product on our text, requires our written permission. Our text and our AI-generated illustrations are protected by copyright and are owned by the operator.

Photographs are not ours. Each one remains under the licence shown in its credit, usually a Creative Commons licence or the public domain. You may reuse a photograph only under the terms of that licence, with the credit it requires. We cannot grant any other rights to them.

If you believe content on the site infringes your rights, email hello@remoteguides.net with the page link and the reason. See the complaints section below.

Unlawful content and acceptable use

You must not send us or post on the site any content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else’s rights or that contains malware. You must not try to break into the site, overload it, scrape it at a volume that harms the service, bypass rate limits or use the connector for anything other than reading our guides. We may block requests and addresses that break these rules.

The connector for AI assistants

The connector is read-only, free and requires no account. The answers you see are produced by the assistant using our content; the assistant may shorten, combine or misstate what we wrote. Check important details on the linked guide. Your assistant vendor’s own terms and privacy policy apply to your conversation. We may rate-limit, change or withdraw the connector at any time, and we do not guarantee that it stays listed in any directory.

Starting and ending the services

Using the website or the connector creates no contract beyond these terms; you can stop at any time by closing the page or removing the connector from your assistant.

Availability

We aim to keep the site and the connector available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may take them offline for maintenance or for security reasons without notice.

Liability

All services are free. We are liable without limit for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body or health. For ordinary negligence we are liable only if we breach a duty essential to the service, and then only for foreseeable, typical damage. We are not liable for decisions you take on the basis of our guides, for the accuracy of third-party sources we link to, or for what an AI assistant makes of our content. Mandatory consumer protection law in the country where you live is not affected by these terms.

Complaints and corrections

If something on the site is wrong, out of date or infringes your rights, email hello@remoteguides.net with the page link and what you want changed. We reply within five working days. Requests to correct a photo credit or remove an image are handled within three working days. If you disagree with our answer, you can write again and we will look at it a second time.

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 of the German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act, VSBG).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer living in another country of the European Union, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country still apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the services change. The date at the top shows the current version.
